Abstract :
This paper developed an automatic measurement system for hitting position measurement of a falling object. The automatic measurement system is composed of three subsystems: Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) based two-dimension array sensor, the signal scanning and processing circuit board, a signal processing card and software. When the falling object hit the two-dimension array sensor, the PVDF will output the charge signal. Thus, it can be used to measure the hitting position of the falling object. The system was verified by using two pitching machines. The results showed the proposed system can measure the falling position of the ping pong correctly and also showed the performance difference of two pitching machines.
