Abstract :
The authors discuss the results of a survey conducted among the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA) member distributors on the topic of power quality, and also address the concerns of other electric utilities around the US, as well as their present programs to improve power quality. The survey includes questions about the frequency of power quality-related consumer inquiries, the nature of the inquiries, how the inquiries divide among customer classes, where the problems originate, the types of solutions to power quality problems offered by distributors, and the capability of power distributors to monitor and analyze power disturbances
