Abstract :
A computer-assisted determination of electromagnetic wave phase velocity in a planar magnetron is described. The numerical analysis is reliable for design applications where the lowest-order TEM (transverse electromagnetic) mode closely approximates the fields in the anode slots. Coaxial slow-wave structures with comparable outer- and inner-conductor radii may also be analyzed successfully with this numerical procedure
