Abstract :
The communication services for smart grid are required to be reliable, real-time, flexible and diverse. However, the existing Ethernet technology cannot solve the problem how services with different requirements co-exist in the same network. Based on the connection-oriented packet transport network (PTN) switching technology and the multi-path rapid protection (PRP) technology, a novel industrial packet transfer network with dual structure is proposed to bear a variety of communication services. The new network implements the transmission of different communication services. Application results show that it achieves high reliability, availability and maintainability.
