Abstract
The authors describe a novel method of noise canceling in instrumentation using a single potential transformer (PT). In this case, two signals were generated from one PT. The first signal was connected as the order connection to the transmission line by an analog switch. The second signal, also made from the same PT, was connected as the `reverse connection´ to the transmission line and also used an analog switch. The authors subtracted the second signal from the first signal and were able to get a reliable signal without any normal mode noise (NMN) which is any frequency a quarter frequency under the switching frequency. This method enables one to get reliable signals without any noise on the transmission line, even if there is no reference noise, reference signal, or specific noise. The accuracy of this method has been verified by experimentation
