Abstract
In this paper the researcher reports on an ongoing investigation on the implementation of knowledge management of conference information at two South African universities. In-depth interviews and focus were conducted with groups with academics and librarians in order to establish whether any of the recommended practices that are embedded in the vast literature base in this field are implemented as part of the university´s overall knowledge management system. The preliminary findings of the project that deals with research in progress, point to a total lack of implementation of the theoretical principles.
