Tupistra chinensis Baker is a widely used medicinal plant in western area of China. In this study, we investigated the effect of Tupistra chinensis Baker extracts on mice H22 hepatocarcinoma xenograft. The mice H22 hepatocarcinoma xenograft animal model was made up firstly. And the mice were administrated by gavage with different concentrations of Tupistra chinensis Baker extracts for 15 days, and the xenograft growth condition, histological study and electron microscopy were used. Compared to model, Tupistra chinensis Baker extracts could significantly inhibit the xenograft growth. Big mass necroses were observed under the light microscope. Further electron microscope observation found that cancer cells apoptosis was severe. Our animal experiments demonstrated that Tupistra chinensis Baker extracts can inhibit the growth of H22 hepatocarcinoma xenograft probably through apoptosis.
