Abstract :
Focusing on “key issues” without losing sight of the whole picture means being able to see the whole picture in the first place. This paper focuses on a part of systems engineering which, unfortunately, can be greatly obscured by attention to nominally more important issues such as finance, programme, hardware design, software design, safety planning, reliability planning, EMC test planning, etc., etc., & yet which, being diminished, by ignorance, lack of belief, management support, & training, will in turn impact severely upon those greater issues. The focus is on: Systems Design. The choice is: Systems Engineering or Systems Design, as the central & major focus of any project within any domain
