Abstract
This paper describes the until now under publicised Type Examination route to compliance with the European EMC Directive. The procedures of the route are explained along with an overview of the ETSI standards for EMC in radio equipment. Some of the potential problem areas associated with testing such apparatus are discussed along with some proposed solutions in particular, for radiated immunity testing
