Abstract :
HDR (High Dynamic Range) image processing is quite common, but there is much less study in HDR processing for videos. AGC (Automatic Gain Control), a general method for camera to adjust the brightness of image, has been used in most camera devices. This paper introduced a novel way of utilizing AGC function to produce HDR videos. Our approach does not need extra devices and no extra information is recorded during the whole process. In this paper, a new model called SGV is introduced which combines gain value and exposure settings and can be estimated from the intensities of frames. After processing, a video with uniform brightness in every frame can be obtained. As a byproduct, we can also get a HDR panoramic image at the same time.
