Abstract :
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic disease that often occurs in the elderly population. Currently, the most common methods for diagnosing OA are radiographs and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method which are specific but require specialized laboratory facilities and highly trained personal. In this work, it developed a user friendly and non-invasive method that is quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) immunosensor, which the biointerface was designed to immobilize antibody by self-assembled monolayer (SAM) technique on the QCM surface. Cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) and α1-antitrypsin (AAT) were used as antibodies. The developed QCM-based immunosensor for COMP and AAT detection showed good sensitivity, linearity (99.9%), specificity and reliability.
