Abstract :
The authors present a loss minimum reconfiguration algorithm for an electric power distribution system. The algorithm is based on the branch exchange algorithm, which is an efficient algorithm if the branch exchange candidate is properly selected. The multistage branch exchange is also employed in the algorithm. In order to select the branch exchange candidates, the linear programming sensitivity is effectively employed. Numerical results show the validity and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Although the approximate solution tends to depend on the initial system, the algorithm is found to be effective for obtaining feasible suboptimal loss minimum solutions
