  • Abstract
In the past few years there has been an enthusiastic interest in mobile agent technology and several platforms have been developed. There are some comparisons in the literature about the functionality of some mobile agent systems. However, none of those studies includes a direct comparison between the performance of the platforms. We present the results of an experimental study where we compare the performance of eight Java-based Mobile Agent systems: Aglets, Concordia, Voyager, Odyssey, Jumping Beans, Grasshopper, Swarm and JAMES. The study presents some insights about the performance and the robustness of each platform
