Abstract :
Cognitive radio is an emerging technology through which unlicensed users utilize the spectrum when primary users are in passive mode (i.e. don´t transmit data). Real time transmission such as multimedia transmission plays an important role over cognitive radio networks. Normally a secondary user transmits its video over empty bands. When a primary user wants to switch on its band, the secondary user gets hanged and its transmission stops. To overcome such real time issues an efficient and flexible algorithm (EFMCRN) has been proposed in which image, audio and video signal can be prioritized with respect to processing time and bandwidth utilization. The priority system prioritizes image signal, followed by audio signal and then video signal.
