Abstract :
In order to study the effect of soluble ions in ice on flashover voltage, flashover tests on an artificial ice plate produced with various ion solutions was conducted in a cold room. The flashover voltage in series discharge path consists of both an air gap and an ice surface has a tendency in proportion to the amount of chemical equivalent to produce the same conductivity solution for each ion. In this experiment, five soluble ions were used for this assessment. The effects of impurities in solution depending on elapse time and of wind direction on ice conductivity were also conducted
