Abstract
The use of several narrowband VCOs with a common phase lock loop in a multichannel frequency source provides certain advantages over more conventional concepts based on a single broadband VCO and microwave switches. Multiple oscillator design offers better phase noise performance and less complicated microwave circuitry. These advantages are particularly distinct in case of a synthesizer with multiple outputs assigned for separate, narrowband frequency channels
