Abstract :
In this paper we propose a novel injection-lock based dual modulus (2/3) prescaler. The prescaler is based on the modulo-n ILFD with ring oscillator and is designed with the TSMC 0.13 mum. Simulations showed a current consumption of 700 muA with a maximum operating frequency of 8 GHz and about 1 GHz common lock range.
