Abstract
This paper outlines the design and development of an integrated Mechatronics System which is currently used at Monash University, Gippsland Campus, for the Undergraduate Mechatronics training. The custom-built Mechatronics system was designed to emphasise the integrated characteristic of Mechatronics discipline. It is currently used to train Mechatronics students on the integration of different sciences from different fields such as Mechanics, Electronics and computer control. The integrated Mechatronics training system has been recently nominated for the Australian Engineering Excellence Award due to its unique educational features. The system helps students in understanding the essence of Mechatronics integration for the performance of a complicated task. Thus helps in achieving the course objectives.
