Abstract
Propagation characteristics of a soliton in a general situation system with variable coefficients are investigated by using the split-step Fourier method. The effects of linear chirp, variable coefficients of the system on soliton characteristics are given in this paper. It shows that the soliton can stably propagate along the fiber.
