Abstract
The multichannel switch and multichannel transmission technique is one of the methods of efficiently utilizing resources. This paper proposes a multichannel ATM switching network. It is composed of two main modules: the channel allocation network and the routing network. It can preserve the cell sequence and the routing network permits more cells than the channel numbers of the channel group to be switched. The channel allocation network need not send request packets to assign channels and simplifies the procedure of the channel allocation
