Abstract
A beam loss monitoring (BLM) system has been designed and implemented for the storage ring of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF). It is a distributed system and composed of a console computer, about 20 data collectors and 80 detectors. It has been verified at the SSRF storage ring and proved to be a useful and sensitive tool to monitor the machine status.
