Abstract
An automatic design strategy for fuzzy controllers was tested. The performance of the obtained controllers was compared with the behavior of the controllers proposed by an expert. The cell-to-cell design algorithm represents a method to extract the control rules that make up a fuzzy controller automatically. The main idea of this approach is to consider a discrete state space of the plant to be controlled. The presence of chaotic effects was investigated and the characteristics of the attractors of the controlled plants were analyzed
