  • Abstract
PET is a useful system for cancer inspection but it is not effective for intestinal and stomach cancers because of random peristaltic motion. We propose a new PET positron detector for intestinal cancers. Photo-Multiplier Tubes are widely used for the detector of scintillation light. Recently, a new photon detector of MPPC (Multi-Pixel Photon Counter) has been developed. Narrow position-sensitive electron (positron) detectors consist of scintillation fibers and MPPC´s can be produced. This detector can be installed into intestine from anus and PET positrons can be measured directly. Inspection of intestinal (and stomach) cancers may be possible.
