Abstract :
ITU-R TG8/1 cut off the submission of candidate radio transmission technologies (RTT) for the third generation mobile telecommunications system on June 1998. The Japanese standardization body ARIB (Association of Radio Industries and Businesses) has proposed wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) as an RTT to ITU-R. This paper describes the features and key technologies of W-CDMA. The laboratory test and some results are reported. Almost all major functions of the W-CDMA are confirmed in laboratory
