Abstract
The authors have developed a production volume control system, which controls the volume of ethylene and propylene by using a process computer to manipulate the cracking temperature and the feed volume of materials. The control system consists of feedforward control for changing material composition as one disturbance factor and feedback control for production. After total control quantities are determined by feedback control and feedforward control, they are distributed to each cracking corresponding to its furnace conditions. The distribution is made by fuzzy condition evaluation based on the rules the operator had conventionally obtained. Production increased after implementing the system
