Abstract :
Using Volterra transfer functions, a new model for AM-PM conversion, determined by the odd Volterra transfer functions is established as a phase statement of compression and desensitization. This model gives us a better evaluation of the radio system immunity when the wanted signal is received with several interfering signals or it has fading. The description of nonlinear circuits by Volterra theory gives the way to generalize the structural analysis method for linear systems in circuits and systems with weakly nonlinearities. It also allows to obtain the AM-PM conversion introduced by N nonlinear blocks connected in cascade which can form a complete radio link. In this case conditions are also found to minimize AM-PM conversion in the system. It is shown that this representation of the AM-PM conversion lets us find the polarization point of transistors, where AM-PM conversion is minimum
