Abstract :
The authors discuss an optimal interleaving scheme for multichannel data acquisition such that each of the channels is sampled at the desired sampling frequency. The optimal interleaving scheme uses the inactive time between consecutive low-frequency samples to obtain additional samples of the higher-frequency signals. The optimal scheme also ensures uniform sampling of each of the channels in the time domain to have a constant sampling frequency. To obtain an optimal set, all sampling frequencies of the higher frequencies must be an integral multiple of the lowest sampling frequency (multiplicity condition). In addition, the samples of each channel must be uniformly sampled in the time domain (symmetry condition)
