Unconventional "Pupil Plane" Imaging systems, that are currently being investigated under SDIO Innovative Science and Technology Directorate Sponsorship, will be described. Reasons for SDIO interest in these systems approaches will be discussed, and the status/potential of enabling technologies will be reviewed.
