Abstract :
One of the key challenges faced by silicon vendors, product manufacturers and service providers today is that of device interoperability. Although networking within the home is now a reality, consumers often have to act as network administrators themselves and are faced with a plethora of non-interoperable products. The current situation of ldquoislands of networksrdquo is satisfactory neither for the consumer, the manufacturer nor the service provider.
