Abstract
In this paper a new fault classification method, based on environmental electromagnetic field measurement, is presented. The fault type is recognized by analyzing two dimensional electromagnetic field, measured in prescribed point on the pole of distribution line, transformed into frequency domain. The validity of method is evaluated by means of classifying the fault type via electromagnetic field calculated for the current distribution along a 20 kV distribution line at the defined point.
