  • Abstract
So far the installations with processes of plasma switch of a current are described basically by the theories: (i) the theory on a base current loop carrying-out by electrodynamic forces; (ii) the fourth stage plasma erosion theory; (iii) the theory of quasipinch formations breaking. In the best installations, working on the specified principles, overvoltages are achieved about 10. However an opportunity more effective breakers is predicted by plasma breakers theory. In coaxial plasma switch overvoltage can be received in some tens time at performance of some requirements on parameters of a design. According to this theory the basic parameter which determining of plasma switch operation is the charge, transferred through installation. Some installations Zakatov group from Kurchatov´s institute worked in such modes. The most characteristic in this relation is a method for plasma preparation. The analysis of experiments shows that the higher level of the power being interrupted enhances the requirements to the density homogeneity along axis and to the hydrodynamic plasma flow axial symmetry.
