Abstract :
Four different multivariable PI (proportional plus integral) controller tuning methods are compared experimentally using a pilot plant, i.e. a laboratory scaled model of a paper machine head-box. The results suggest that considerable improvement is obtained with the properly tuned multivariable PI controller when compared to the use of well-tuned SISO PI controllers
