Abstract :
The Delta floating-point processor is a very high-speed array processor designed for artificial neural system simulation in a PC/AT environment. It was developed from concept to production in 15 months, and includes several design innovations that make it the fastest available plug-in floating-point array processor. The design process leading to successful development of the Delta and the novel features that contribute to its speed are discussed.<>
