Dongchang Lake is a rare man-made lake in northern China located in western Shandong Province. It comprises of 6 sectional lakes and its total area is about 4.2 km2. Based on the Lake´s characteristic and monitoring data about water pollution in 2009, using loss rate model of water pollution, the damage of tourism-related functions in Dongchang Lake is calculated and evaluated. In this article, tourism-related functions are mainly about fish and recreation, travel and swimming. The results show that Dongchang Lake was not suitable for serving as water source for swimming and travel because it was of serious water equality in all six sectional lakes. As used for fishing and recreation, water had also been affected by pollution and most sectional lakes are light and moderately damaged.
