Abstract
We consider pulse shaping in time-varying channels with statistical channel knowledge available at the transmitter. By establishing two optimization criteria for the optimality of joint transmitter and receiver pulse shapes, a new iterative pulse shaping scheme is presented yielding impressive gain in WSSUS scenarios. The approach is embedded in an analytical framework providing lower bounds on the achievable performance.
