Abstract :
We present an all-optical switch based on joint effects of dipole induced transparency (DIT) and electromagnetic induced transparency (EIT), that forbids the transparency induced by a dipole in an add-drop filter due to the vacuum Rabi shifting. The switching speed is very high, since only quantum interference between probe and pump signals is involved.
