Based on detection and evaluation on overflow and seepage water produced in filling process, it studies the effect of paste filling on underground water quality in mining area. Firstly, tests are made on heavy metal ions of overflow produced during tailings dewatering, to determine the proportion of injurious ingredient contained in sewage during filling. Then, tests are made on seepage water quality, and water quality is judged by multi-object decision. As the result shows, 16.74% ~ 79.83% of injurious ingredient in the tailings has been filled into the underground, however, the water turned out to be I and II level when synthetically evaluated by five indexes, namely arsenic, selenium, barium, fluoride and cyanide, which shows it would not pollute the underground water, and it is safe, also feasible to adopt paste filling.
