Abstract :
This work proposes a blind multiuser equalization algorithm (BMEA) for multirate (variable processing gain or multicode) DS/CDMA systems in multipath which is an extension of the single-rate BMEA using cumulant based inverse filter criteria (IFC) proposed by Chi et al., by converting real multirate users into single-rate (i.e., same spreading factor) virtual users. The proposed multirate BMEA also share the merit of super-exponential convergence rate of Chi et al., single-rate BMEA. Furthermore, the proposed multirate BMEA in conjunction with Chi et al., blind maximum ratio combining (BMRC) algorithm, called multirate BMEA-BMRC algorithm, is proposed for the DS/CDMA system with multiple receive antennas. Finally, some simulation results are presented to support the efficacy of the proposed multirate BMEA and multirate BMEA-BMRC algorithm.
