Abstract :
This study sets the problem of estimating the efficient operation of the ultra high-power EAF with static Var compensator in different operation modes from the point of view of power quality. The results of the experimental study of electric power quality at 35 kV primary side of the furnace transformer are presented in this article. It is shown that the coefficients of fluctuation, asymmetrical and non-sinusoidal voltage exceed the limited rated parameters. One should pay attention to higher performance on the regulated component of SVC side, ie on the side of TCR directly.
