Abstract
Voltage waveform distortions appearing in the power system have an adverse effect on energy receivers, cables and transformers. In induction cage machines they cause additional power losses, and consequently -an increase in windings temperature. The majority of papers devoted to the influence of voltage waveform distortions on induction machines are focusing only on a voltage harmonics effect. This work deals with experimental investigations of voltage subharmonics on the magnetic flux in an induction machine. It was pointed out that an increase in the peak flux value is much smaller than resulting from the previous theoretical analysis.
