For solving the comprehensive assessment of marine environmental quality, an assessment method based on the average weight analytic hierarchy process is presented. The comprehensive assessment was made for the Shuangtaizi Estuary in August 2008 by this method. The results indicated that the main contamination in seawater was DIN and in sediment and organism the main contamination was Cd. The comprehensive assessment grade was A, the marine environmental quality was in good condition. The method was convenient, reliable and it can be good application.
