    The purpose of this work was to assess the effect of reclaimed water (RW) irrigation on the microbial community diversity in the rhizosphere soil of Poa pratensis L and also to investigate to what extent different ecological measurements can be applied to assess microbial structure and diversity. The results suggested that the RW irrigation increased the bacterial diversity. There were 52 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) in the RW-irrigated sample, whereas only 38 in the control, an increase of 36.8%. While the RW-irrigated sample had 63.5% rare OTUs and 1.9% the most abundant OTUs, the control had 57.9% and 7.9% respectively. Due to a special OTUs distribution pattern, none of the five species abundance models fit the OTU abundance distribution of the RW-irrigated sample, while the log normal models fit the the control sample. The richness index seemed to be very useful for analyzing the shift of bacterial community influenced by RW irrigation. The Shannon-Weaner index and the Shannon-Weaner evenness values might be inapplicable to the microbial community. Species abundance models also seemed to be promising to explain the changes in bacterial community structure.
