Abstract
The results of electromagnetic field measurements of bow thruster drive with frequency converter, made during stay of the vessel in the port, are performed in this paper. These experiments are the one of the steps of the bigger research project, which leads to evaluation of electromagnetic field intensity onboard research-training vessel m/v "Horyzont II". Due to the analysis of measurements results, the level of electromagnetic field intensity was evaluated, in reference to the standards, which take into account the people protection against the excessive emission of electromagnetic field. In the investigated environment, there is a low intensity of electric field. But in frequency range from 5 Hz to 400 kHz, the high intensity of magnetic field is observed. The area of high magnetic field intensity was localized, close to the cable supplying the bow thruster motor, near to the motor junction box.
