Abstract :
A PDMS microfluidic device composed of several microstructured layers is fabricated for perfusion culture of mammalian cells. The device has been tested with Hep G2 and 3T3-L1 cells to investigate the possibilities of microfluidic/MEMS devices in the field of tissue engineering. Comparison between a two layer device and multi-layer devices with and without oxygen chamber has shown the importance of oxygen supply in large scale cell culture required for tissue reconstruction.
