Abstract
The nonlinear energy operator (NEO) is usually used for the estimation of energy content of linear oscillator. A spike having high magnitude and high gradient appears with high value with this operation. To distinguish positive spike from negative spike, we suggest the modified nonlinear energy operator (MNEO) for the analysis of R-R interval variation during sleep. QRS complex of ECG waveform is detected with this MNEO and the statistical properties of R-R interval in each sleep state is analyzed
