Abstract :
A method of estimating the composite harmonic current generated by the operation of several nonlinear loads connected to a single power distribution transformer is introduced. The author draws upon the information available from industry and proposes an intuitive expansion of the currently available K-factor calculation. The proposed expansion provides a useful tool in specifying properly designed power distribution transformers for operating in a nonsinusoidal load environment
