Abstract :
A general algorithm is developed for multiple-input multiple-output systems that utilize depth switching between register sets in CC (crosscut) memory to efficiently preserve intermediate states and handle the cross-coupled terms. This avoids the necessity of making floating point calculations and realizes the benefits of lookup-table methods. The frame times for the CC memory solutions are dependent on the number of bits needed to accurately represent variables and coefficients, and only a slight increase in frame time occurs as system order is increased. Assembly language programs for a two-input two-output second-order system, a three-input three-output second-order system and a two-input two-output fourth-order system have been written. The simplicity of these programs shows the usefulness of CC memory for modeling multivariable systems. Assuming a single-sequential-processor environment, timing estimates for algorithm examples are given
