  • Abstract
In recent years, grid technology is a new network computing and resources organization technology developed on the basis of network and information technology. Grid technology is widely used in many fields for its characteristics of sharing and collaboration. Grid supported collaborative design platform combines grid technology and distributed collaborative design technology. It solves the issues of resource sharing, computing and remote collaborative ability faced by present collaborative design system. In this paper, based on the open grid services architecture (OGSA), a Grid supported product collaborative design model is proposed. By using the globus grid middleware, a Grid supported collaborative design platform is implemented and a grid portal of the platform is designed.
