Abstract :
We report our development of a multi-purpose visual stimulation system for the generation of visual evoked potentials. The system was designed to provide a comprehensive selection of visual stimuli and enable the experimenter to vary a number of critical parameters surrounding the stimulus. This provides experimental control over the evoked potential visual stimulus, allowing for more accurate reproductions of experiments for better comparisons of investigated techniques. After the development of the system was completed, the system was thoroughly tested in human subjects, in accordance with a protocol approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRE) of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Testing was performed to validate system performance. Results were comparable with those reported within the literature, verifying the system´s functionality and flexibility
