Abstract
A software and a hardware system for artificial smell detection is described. It has been designed and implemented on a local CPU to detect and follow gradients of odor concentration. It is based on inorganic semiconductor sensors, but the method is also useful for organic sensors. When mounted on an autonomous platform it is used as a guide for robotic navigation.<>
